About Me

A short insight on who I am

My interest in engineering started with a love for cars, how they moved, how they were built, and how all the mechanical systems came together to create something both functional and powerful. That curiosity led me to pursue mechanical engineering at UMBC, entering college with a clear, career-focused mindset. But as I progressed through the curriculum, I realized that while I appreciated the technical depth, something was missing. I was doing the work, but I wasn’t engaged. The connection between what I was learning and the kind of impact I wanted to make just wasn’t there.

That realization led me to pivot into an individualized study major in Design Engineering. I built a degree that combines engineering fundamentals, user-centered design, systems thinking, and technical communication. The goal was to move beyond problem-solving on paper and instead focus on how engineering can be applied with the intention to improve real systems, serve real people, and deliver solutions that are not only efficient but also meaningful and intuitive.

Through this program, I’ve worked on design challenges that require both technical precision and human awareness, and I’ve gained practical experience as a VDC intern at Whiting-Turner, supporting large-scale construction projects with a focus on digital turnover, process improvement, and data coordination. This experience, along with my academic work, has shaped me into a professional who not only builds but builds with purpose.

Outside of the classroom and office, I’ve also explored how design principles translate to aesthetics and physical form through fashion. I run a small-scale clothing brand where I apply the same attention to feel, form, and usability that I bring to engineering. Whether it’s the cut of a garment or the structure of a collection, I see fashion as another outlet for thoughtful design balancing function, identity, and creativity in every piece.
